Biblical hope and practical help for families experiencing disability.

Many of us encounter individuals in our family or personal circles who are affected by disability, prompting us to consider how we can encourage and support them. Guidelight has been established to help provide a biblical perspective on disability and helps guide us in reaching out to families and individuals impacted by disability.

Our mission...

...is to bring about Christ-centered transformation in the lives of those experiencing disability.
But together, we can make a difference.
Join us to bring hope and help to individuals and families affected by disability around the world.

15% of the global population
experiences disability.

It means that over 1 billion people live with a disability in the world today.
Through retreats and training, we help families who are weary and lonely find encouragement and community for the journey ahead.

“Guidelight brings… encouragement, hope, purpose, and strength through God’s Word. My family has personally experienced this… during some of the darkest seasons of living with disability.”

A BRIEF HISTORY
OF GUIDELIGHT:

2005 - 2023

Since its founding in 2005 (previously as The Elisha Foundation), Guidelight has experienced remarkable growth. From a single, small family retreat serving five families with just four volunteers, we have expanded to conducting regular retreats accommodating ten families at a time, with a dedicated team of 20+ volunteers. Annually, our volunteers contribute an average of 7,000 hours of service with Guidelight. Evolving from family retreats, we now offer training on disability and international programs.

Throughout Guidelight's journey, we have consistently broadened our impact overseas in response to the pressing needs of those affected by disability on a global scale. Our focus is on strategically providing training and outreach in cross-cultural contexts where disability-related resources are scarce, and stigma often marks those impacted by disability.

At the core of our mission is the pursuit of Christ-centered transformation in the lives of people affected by disability.
